Avian influenza H5N1 in Norfolk, United Kingdom
On 13 November 2007 the Department for the Environment, Food and Rural affairs (DEFRA) confirmed highly pathogenic H5N1 avian influenza in turkeys at a farm in Diss on the Norfolk/Suffolk border in the United Kingdom [1].
DEFRA have completed a cull of all turkeys on the farm and established a three kilometre protection zone and a ten kilometre surveillance zone around the premises.
