Independent Nurse Article

The recent article in Independent Nurse highlighting NaTHNaC's initiative around Yellow Fever Vaccination Centres (YFVCs) in England and Wales [1], provides us with the opportunity to clarify the following points:

  • This is not a UK wide initiative. NaTHNaC's registration and training programme has been rolled out in England and Wales only. Concerned health professionals in Scotland and Northern Ireland should click here for details on their respective registration requirements.
  • Training courses are offered in all regions across England, and now in north and south Wales. Traditionally a higher number of venues have been booked in London because the demand is so high. However, a number of training sessions are currently being confirmed to allow all centres, regardless of region, to attend.
  • Many delegates have been placed on a holding list while we book further venues. Any payments that have been sent in will act as a credit against the centres account until which time the delegate can successfully be placed on a training day.
  • Associate Trainers - some training sessions will be given by our newly appointed team of Associate Trainers. These trainers are experienced Travel Health Specialists who will be presenting NaTHNaC's training programme. These seminars will be given over a morning or afternoon in response for more flexible time frames to suit the busy schedules of those working in the centres.
