Foreign and Commonwealth Office (FCO) and the travel industry: working together on important issues affecting British travellers abroad

On 15 October 2009, The Minister of Consular Services, Chris Bryant, met with representatives from the travel industry and Non Governmental Organisations (NGO) to discuss important issues affecting British travellers abroad.

The FCO sponsors a twice yearly meeting between these parties to encourage working together to reduce the number of preventable consular incidents and to improve the reputation of British travellers abroad.

The FCO ‘Know Before You Go’ campaign was acknowledged as a useful resource for all those involved in communicating key messages on safe travel to the British traveller.
